Matrimonium | Episode Summary | Cast and Characters |
- "O Lord, our heavenly Father, high and mighty, king of kings, lord of lords... the only ruler of princes, who dost, from Thy throne, behold all the dwellers upon Earth. Most heartily, we beseech Thee, with thy favor, to behold our most gracious Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth, and so replenish her with the grace of thy Holy Spirit, that she may always incline to Thy will and walk in Thy way... Endue her plenteously with heavenly gifts. Grant her, in health and wealth, long to live. Strengthen her, that she may vanquish and overcome all her enemies and, finally, after this life... she may attain everlasting joy and felicity through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."

Historical Notes[]
- Margaret's silk organza wedding gown was designed by Norman Hartnell, who also designed the Queen's wedding gown. The gown was designed to be simple and sophisticated, with a minimum of beading or other decoration. With it, she wore the Poltimore tiara, which was purchased (it is unclear by whom) for the wedding, and a diamond necklace which originally belonged to Queen Mary, her grandmother.
- The method used during the scene where Elizabeth gave birth to Prince Andrew is called the "Twilight Sleep", a method is where a pregnant woman being sedated with morphine and scopolamine and delivers a baby with the use of forceps, an earlier childbirth method used in the early 20th century until the decline of the aforementioned method in the 1970s due to pre-natal problems.
Trivia[]
- When Margaret visits Elizabeth to meet the newborn Prince Andrew, Elizabeth reveals that she and Philip had considered naming him George or Louis before settling on Andrew. Interestingly, George and Louis are the actual names of William and Catherine's sons. Notably, at the time of the episode, Prince Louis had not yet been born, adding an unintentional reference to Elizabeth's future great-grandchildren.
- When Elizabeth asked Philip about what was her "best thing" about her. He answered "two things" and the reason to have children is "enormous", implying that Elizabeth was busty in her youth.
