- This episode marked the debut of King George V but he only appears in flashbacks alongside Queen Mary.
- In this episode, while the Tsar and Tsarina are seen talking to each other in Russian, in their private life they would have spoken French or German. When the whole family was under house arrest prior to their murder they weren’t allowed to speak in French because the Bolsheviks forbade them from doing so. However it was reported that the daughters disregarded that rule and spoke to each other in French secretly to each other.
- Charlotte, King George V's parrot is depicted as a macaw as opposed to an African gray parrot in real life.
