Henry Herbert, 7th Earl of Carnarvon, (born Henry George Reginald Molyneux Herbert) was the Queen's childhood friend and her racing manager. Known as "Porchey", he was heir to the Earldom of Carnarvon, using the courtesy title, Lord Porchester.
As a young man, he took the Princess Elizabeth to balls and parties and was part of the group who joined the crowds on VE Day, as dramatized in the film A Royal Night Out.

- Tim Bentick, the portrayer of an older Porchey in Season 6, is himself an earl. Bentick holds the Earldom of Portland in the Peerage of England with additional titles of Viscount Woodstock and Baron Cirencester as well as the title of Count Bentick of Waldeck Limpurg, which was created in the days of the Holy Roman Empire.[2]
- Bentick previously starred in the Season 3 finale, Cri de Coeur, in a spoken role as the poet laureate Sir John Betjeman.
