Hello all!
I began watching The Crown on Christmas. My friend got me on Netflix and the first show I wanted to The Crown. I have to say that I really love this show!
Hello, The Crown Wiki! I'm your new wiki representative sent by Fandom to offer my support, so feel free to reach out if you think the wiki is in need of anything!
While I'm here, I see that you don't have an active admin, so I'll activate the mobile theming update. From now on mobile users will be able to view the wiki with the desktop wiki themes.
Hello the Crown community, I wish to adopt the wiki for admin and bureaucrat tools. Let me know what you think.
Queen Elizabeth II died a few hours ago.
Emperor Hirohito was in The Crown, do you remember? 😄 I created an article for him: Emperor Hirohito!
Is it possible to cite Web News Observer on this wiki page? They have published an article about the crown season 5. It looks informational and can be cited or added as an external link. Let me know what you think? 🤔
Hey there! I guess I revive the discussion area with my article about Geoffrey Howe! 😀
With only a few more days until season 4 is upon us, is everybody excited to see the portrayals of Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana?
As a fan of Gillian Anderson, it will certainly be interesting to see how she tackles the role. For those of you that are history buffs - any particular events you expect to see?
From the many books I have read I do know Philip was very angry about his children not taking his name. I think if he pursued this legally, he would have won his case. And, I think him finding a role for him to play once his wife became queen was difficult due to the obstruction of palace courtiers.
I think Matt Smith played him too whiny.
One scene that I do not think happened was Philip asking the Queen that he not kneel to her at the coronation. Philip was from a royal house from Greece and Denmark so he would have known his role and what he would need to do. I believe this scene was made up to create drama.
Wanting to marry Peter Townsend, a divorced man, it just seems so silly today to understand the opposition to it in the late 1950s especially since three of the Queen's children have divorced and with Charles' and Andrews' being so scandalous - adultery committed by both Charles and Diana, Fergie and her toe sucking pictures being splashed on newspapers around the world.
One of the main reasons why Queen Elizabeth II has lived so long is that she never smoked. According to the Crown, Prince Philip gave it up per her request much to his benefit. All 20th century English kings smoked incessantly and all died of smoke related diseases.
So in watching season 1 when the King travels to Sandringham, everyone inside the rail car is wearing a coat/top coat. Were rail cars not heated during this time period? I've also noticed the same thing on subsequent scenes of The Crown when the family is traveling by train.
Pages are protected, but I found an error on Season 3 Episode 1 that needs fixing.
As you all know...Season 3/4 has a brand new cast! The three main characters are played by Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, and Helena Bonham Carter.
Personally...I love all three of these actors SO MUCH. I think the casting was incredible. Do you agree?
Season 2 has dropped and we're so excited. Which is your favorite episode so far?
I'm so excited about Season 2! As the Queen gains more experience and wisdom, she'll come up against new challenges. Can't wait to see her kick butt with all that class. fandom.wikia.com/articles/why-the-crown-was-the-best-tv-series-of-2016
